Bank Rakyat formed on 28 September 1954 under the Cooperative Societies Ordinance 1948, which is currently the largest Islamic cooperative bank in Malaysia with total assets amounting to RM89.18 billion as of end December 2014.

The transformation from the conventional banking system to Islamic banking system since 2002 has been the success of the Bank to continue to record impressive gains every year. For the financial year ended December 31, 2015, we recorded a profit before tax and zakat of RM2.01 billion.
