History of establishment

Kelantan State Museum Corporation was established under Act No. 6 of 1975, and came into force on 1 September 1976, according to the Government Gazette Kelantan - KN.P.U.26, dated August 26, 1976.

Before the existence of this Act, the establishment of the State Museum organized by the "Committee of the State Museum" appointed by the State Government since 1952 again.

In accordance with the Kelantan Museum Corporation Enactment No. 6 of 1975 and the Act relating Ordinance Antiquities and Treasure No. 14/1957 as well as the Constitution Act A704 / 111 988, Kelantan Museum Corporation was entrusted to determine the direction, execution, tasks and responsibilities.

In 1980, several staff members have been appointed to carry out all activities Kelantan Museum Corporation. Whereas on 1 January 1981, a temporary office Museums Corporation has been moved from the Office of the State Secretary to the Government House, JKR 12.1, Kampung Sireh, Kota Bharu (now in the City Complex Darulnaim).

In March 1981, the repair work and the renovation of the Museum Istana Jahar as has been done at a cost of RM164,650. On July 1, 1981, while the museum was opened to the public from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm. Simultaneously, the temporary office of the Corporation The museum also has moved to Istana Jahar.

In 1991, once again the Office of the Kelantan State Museum Corporation has moved into the old building Kota Bharu Municipal Council (MPKB), where the building was made Istana Jahar Museum Kelantan Royal Customs and old buildings made MPKB State Museum.
