Ministry of Works Malaysia is a ministry under the government of Malaysia. The Ministry was established in 1956 with the name of the Ministry of Works, Posts and Telecommunications. In 1975, the ministry has been restructured and renamed the Ministry of Works and Transport. The rapid development and socio-economic development of the country in the 1970s has led to improved function and role of the ministry.

In accordance with these developments, in 1978 once again function and ministry name changed to Ministry of Works and Public Utilities. However, in line with the specialization of responsibility, in the 1980s, the government has decided to name the ministry as Ministry of Works and the name has remained until now.
